Deb Thompson, Teacher
Deb Thompson officially joined our team in 2020, but has been actively involved in the planning of NFCA from the very beginning. For the past ten years, Deb took a step back from Christian education in order to lovingly care for her late husband Randy and her mom Grace. Before this time, Deb lived and breathed Christian education. She earned a Bachelors Degree in Christian Ministry with a concentration in psychology and counseling, while teaching a combined 5-6th grade classroom in Georgia. After moving to Colorado, Deb taught for both the Montrose and Delta County School districts. Then, in 2007 Deb joined the staff of Caprock Academy in Grand Junction, CO, where she taught both 6th and 8th grades respectively. Deb loves Jesus first, her family second, and Christian education third. She hopes to serve the Lord at NFCA for many years. We are so blessed to call her “teacher.”
James Parks, Administrator
James Parks serves as the Administrator of NFCA. He is happily married to his beautiful wife Janelle of seven years. They live in Hotchkiss with their two children Selah and Jedidiah. James earned a B.S. in Business with a concentration in Accounting in 2013 and a Masters of Divinity in 2016. He enjoys hiking, fishing, guitar, and family! With a passion for simplifying God’s Word, James also serves as the Youth Pastor of First Baptist Church of Hotchkiss. James believes that Christian education is an important avenue for teaching children and teens the Bible. He desires to see students mature into well-prepared adults “suitable for the Master’s use, and prepared unto every good work” (2 Timothy 2:19).
Sarah Pehrson, Teacher
Hi! My name is Mrs. Sarah Pehrson. I grew up in Plymouth, NH, where I attended Calvary Christian School from K-4 through 12th grade. I grew up with an older brother and younger sister playing sports, working with family, and helping the church. I got saved when I was in 3rd grade, and I have been incredibly blessed by God in every way. In 2010, I attended West Coast Baptist College in Lancaster, CA, where I studied Elementary Education & Bible. Currently, I live in Hotchkiss, CO, with my husband, Brandon, and our son, JD. I enjoy the outdoors and spending time with friends and family. I have been teaching and tutoring students for the past six years, and I am excited to make this coming school year my best year yet! I truly count it a privilege to be your child’s teacher this year!
